Meeting Characters at Disney's Aulani Resort
Meeting characters at Disney’s Aulani Resort is different than anything you might have experienced in the parks!
You never can fully predict who you will get a chance to meet during your Aulani visit, but here are a few tips so you can make the most out of each day!
- Make sure you get your wristband for the day before you hop in line to meet a character. I believe you could also use your room key, but they do check that you are a resort guest while you are in line!
- Call the Toon Finder. While some of the characters will be easy to spot, around the pool area and such, other are more hidden! Each morning you can call the Toon Finder (an extension you dial from your room) to see who will be meeting for the day, where they will be, and when they will be meeting.
- Not every character will meet every day. Over the course of our 4 nights we had the opportunity to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip & Dale, Moana, Stitch, Goofy, Duffy, and Shellie May. While characters like Mickey, Minnie and Pluto were available to meet everyday, a lot of the others only popped up once or twice during our stay!
- Meet Mickey, Minnie and Pluto at breakfast! During the character breakfast Mickey, Minnie and Pluto all come to your table. This is a great time to cross those guys off your list so you can meet the more rare characters during the day!
- Send a video back home! Post cards are out ladies and gentleman, personalized videos are IN! Our niece loves Moana, so when we met her I mentioned I wanted to send a message back home to her. Moana took her place in front of my camera and helped me create a personalized message to our niece. It was so special!
Overall, the character interactions at Aulani were some of the absolute best I have ever had! Especially when we met Shellie May. It was kind of a surprise that she was even out.
Even a lot of the Cast Members we spoke to mentioned how special it was that we got to meet her!
She took so much time with each guest. The cutest thing was in between each group she would look up and find her light before she helped you pose for a photo.
