In the Room Where it Happens
As 2017 comes to a close I am trying my best to wrap up a bunch of blog posts and close the year with a nice little bow!
When we were in NYC in October I never thought we would get the chance to see Hamilton on Broadway.
The day before we left, I checked tickets one last time. The evening show for the day we arrived wasn't sold out, and because of this, people who were trying to resell their tickets had dropped their prices. Cam quickly snatched a couple up, and let's just say BEST ANNIVERSARY PRESENT EVER.
I think planning something like this SO LAST MIN was a blessing in disguise for me. I didn't have time to totally freak out or even really process the fact that I was going to see this show in real life.
We went by the theater before dinner to take some pictures, while it was still daylight. We also stopped by the Hamilton Gift Shop right across the street.
I highly recommend doing the gift shop before the show, or even on another day. They offer the same items you can buy inside during the show, but it's a lot less overwhelming than trying to shop with everyone in the theater.
After dinner, we walked back by the theater to see what time you could start lining up to enter. I was the first in the theater and that was one of the best things ever.
Our seats were amazing. I have never been in an audience filled with more people who were all just so happy to be there.
I held it together pretty well through most of the show and then I SOBBED for the last 15 min. Cam had to check on me. I was totally out of control. I was just so happy to be in the room where it happens.
